The REDWING STUD is a small but fertile property just 30 kms south of Toowoomba. Both winter and summer crops are grown solely for hay and green fodder for our droughtmaster herd of 30 breeders. We commenced our operation in 1990, prompted by my parents Frank and Val Hodgson (Wingfield). Dad delivered to our place four Wingfield cows by Greenacres Julien with the intention of us breeding a "few good droughtmasters".
Included was Wingfield Beulah(3rd) mother of Wingfield Boris (sire: Minlacowie Millionaire) and Wingfield Beneton (sire: Sersema Ptolemy).

Each year he would drop off a bull to put with our cows.

Thanks to Dad's encouragment and good judgement, we now breed and sell our cattle under the REDWING Prefix, and my sister Suzannne under her ELANORA Prefix.

The WINGFIELD STUD was sold and is now in the capable hands of the Spann family.
